My RP is L1 Influences of Malaysian ESL Writings at Royal Military College and National Defence University : A Case Study of Contrastive Rhetoric. To be sincere and honest, this topic was not easy for me. To be frank, I was doing background check about contrastive rhetoric for almost two years and still at the moment, I noticed that in qualitative studies, you need to be meticulous and very thorough on aspects of research. I need someone...., that is my future supervisor to lead me the way. Hmmmmmmm. Today is Saturday and I hope that I will survive this course. This is hard, and I am wandering if I were to reach the podium.

TPR and Modeling, Storytelling, Think Aloud

One of my mini research is about TPR. TPR derived from behaviorism. The interesting thing about TPR ,is that ,TPR is all about teachers and all about instructions. First, I will try to use TPR by introducing modeling in writing and combine it with peer review, secondly I will find out whether storytelling can be used under TPR, thirdly, I will find out whether TPR which focuses on behavior with think aloud of cognitive, and this ought to be interesting. Can I use behaviorism method to regulate cognitive strategies. That is the issue and I really do not know whether it is consider abusive or not, but in my mind, this thing is quite simple, if one military instructor want to train a civilian to become a military-man, he need to change the thinking and behavior of the civilian to become as military-man. How he want to make sure that the transformation is happening is by observing the behaviors displayed by the trainee and he has to listen attentively what are the topics trainee talk about at nighttime without the trainee noticing, and the instructor can know what is the wavelength of his trainee. By then, he as instructor can manage and regulate the observable strategies of his trainee with the intention to change the attitude, behavior and thinking of his trainee. In comparison to school, teachers can observe his students through actions they make and teacher can ask the students to think aloud, so that, teacher can modify students thinking or behavior. So, the role of the teacher would be, manage their students by regulating and developing the learning skills or learning strategies or change attitude or change behavior of his students.
